Geology + Biology
If your family is avaliable, it is better to choose study oversea. Due to more choice and better techniques and opppotunity availabe for research
To be a paleotologist, you may choose the subject or combinations belows :
Zoology + Geology, evolutionary biology, paleobiology, paleotology, botany + geology, geology + biology
USA and Australia are good choice as it is relatively cheaper than in UK and their course quality are very good.

Suggested way :
Try to go to a community college for 60 credit (you need to study for about 1 to 2 years) and transfer to those university of another 60 credits. This is relatively cheaper than have a SAT exam and study in an university for 120 credits.
I am planing to follow this way as well. The community college I am considering is Tacoma Community College

If you want to study in UK, the best univeristy for science field is either university of Cambrige or Oxford, which are hard to enter by HKAL. ( So GCEAL is recommended) And you have to show your extracurricular activity as well.
Besides, if your financial burget is limited. You should look for scholarships in those countries. Scholarship available in Australia is relatively more and you can do no more than 20 hours/week of part time jobs in there.
When you are fail to get a scholarship in those country. You can cosider about some European counties like Sweden and Germany. All course in Sweden and some course in Germany are free of charge(the rest are at most 500 euro, about 5000 hk doller for a year in Germany) for international student in their University. As government in those countries are eager to have and support the international studentts in their countries, there is certain scholarship and financial aids to students. But the only disadventage is you have to learn german or swedish even though you are attending an english classes.
